Village Lyuben Karavelevo near Varna. Hier live especially Bulgarian men and women with Roma origin as the family of “Dora” (name changed), a mother of five children. L. Karavelevo is one of the numerous places in the region of Varna where the Bulgarian-German Sozialwerk in cooperation with the Association Sauchastie provides outpatient family assistance for deprived Roma families, which live isolated and in poverty.
Thank to the donations made by the German of friends of the Sozialwerk and by other generous people it is possible to help these people not only in a social, psychological and pedagogical way but also in a practical manner, e.g. with food. For example Dora received flour and yeast in order to bake simple bread for her five children. In this way it is possible to feed a whole family with “very few” products.
It is not about the beauty of the bread but about its necessity – Bread to survive, Bread to stay alive.
Not the beauty of the bread makes Dora’s children happy but the fact that they become fully sated and do not go hungry to bed. There are many family in similar situation which we can help thank to the donations made by German donors and involved locals (Bulgarians AND Roma people).
But there are also many other families for which donations are necessary.
