    Private herbs gardens in Zagreb

Two POUZ students from the English course beginners wrote a small text describing their herbs garden. They also took photos of their herbs.

My garden is in Zagorje in Krapinske toplice. A garden exists for 15 years now. I spend every weekend in it. In my garden I grow flowers, vegetables and herbs. In it I have mint, rosemary, sage, basil, immortelle, thyme, oregano and lavender. I use herbs for cooking but also I use them for making tea and essential oils. My favourite herb is lavender and besides making essential oils I also put it in pillows. In my garden I have a lot of guests such as bees, butterflies, bumblebees and wasps. (Ankica Ergić)

My garden is close to my apartment. It’s a community garden. It is mine for four years now. I like to be in the garden. I could be there a whole day. I go to the garden very often. In the garden I have a lot of vegetables (cucumbers, carrots, onions, parsleys, tomatoes…), flowers and herbs (thyme, rosemary, oregano, melissa, basil, lavender, marigold…). My favorite herb is marigold. I like it because it has medicinal benefits for health. I usually use it for making face cream or tea. (Jasna Meco)
