The University of Ruse “Angel Kanchev” is a state university with about 10 000 students, including 480 international stuents from 17 countries. It has long traditions in education and is a leader among Bulgarian Universities in academic exchange of students and lecturers under various EU Programmes.There are over 150 multi- and bilateral agreements with institutions in the EU and the world.In the last few years the University of Ruse is a partner of ZAWiW, University of Ulm in the projects DANET, DASUN, DASTO, DALEC 1 and 2, and now in Personal Town Tours (PTT). The main goals of the work on these projects are increasing the civic engagement of old and young, strengthening the intergenerational dialogue, using the skills and knowledge of the third age group, as well as putting into practice the principles of lifelong learning.
